Holiday Makeup Looks

As it's now Christmas break, I had some time to experiment a little with my makeup and here are two simple and light eye makeup looks that I've created. They are very basic, but I thought I'd still share the pictures. I wore the first eye makeup look on Christmas Eve. The second look was just an excuse so that I could try out my new liquid eyeliner! But I find that it's a more subtle eye look, suitable for any occasion really.

Look #1
Brown eye pencil (on upper lash line) with gold and brown eyeshadow

Look #2
Black liquid eyeliner with a neutral light pink and brown eyeshadow

Holiday Baking: Gingerbread Cookies

Took pictures while doing one of my favorite things ever: baking. This is holiday baking which makes it 10 times better! My sisters and I made gingerbread cookies this year for the first time, and they were a lot of fun to make and decorate. My sisters made this (really easy-to-make) gingerbread dough and we then added some pastel-colored icing, which made the results very pretty and holiday-themed. Go make some if you haven't already this month, because I guarantee you they taste as yummy as they look :)

For the dough:
350 g flour
4 teaspoons (10 g) yeast
170 g brown sugar
2 teaspoons of spices (cinnamon, anise, ginger, nutmeg, cloves or just a gingerbread mix)
100g soft butter
1 egg
100g sweet liquid honey
For the icing:
1 egg white
200 g of icing sugar

1. Preheat oven to 160 ° C.

2. Mix the dry ingredients together.
Add the butter and mix until it becomes crumbly.

3. Stir in the egg and honey and mix until the dough forms a ball.

4. Spread the dough with a rolling pin on a floured surface.
And now use cookie cutters or your imagination to shape your cookies.
Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper (or buttered).

5. Bake for 7 to 10 minutes until the cookies are golden/lightly brown.
Then let them cool for a few minutes.

6. Meanwhile prepare the icing by gradually adding the icing sugar with the egg white.
Once that is done, you are ready to decorate your gingerbread cookies!

Fall/Winter Playlist

I really wanted to share some songs I've been loving since September...You're probably thinking it's very late for this now, since it's December and everyone is getting in the Christmas spirit. But, hey, it's never too late, right?

My music taste is definitely pop (and sometimes a little R&B). I love listening to all the new "hits" out there, so you probably know/heard some of them already. However, if you wanted a new album or artist to jam out to, then I hope this is helpful. Enjoy!

Oh, and also this is not in the order of my preferences, it's just everything I've been loving in general :)

1. Ariana Grande's new album "My Everything". My favorite songs off of it are "Be My Baby", "Love Me Harder", and "Break Your Heart Right Back". Also "Bang Bang" is sooo good, with Jessie J and Nicki Minaj!

 2. Taylor Swift's "Shake It Off". I haven't listened to her entire album "1989" yet, but I've been really liking "Welcome to New York" as well.
3. I've also been loving the new Maroon 5 hits: "Animals" and "Maps".
4. I LOVE Meghan Trainor! "All About That Bass" and "Dear Future Husband" are my faves but I really like the majority of her songs quite honestly. Her songs have an 80's vibe and they're super fun and uplifting. Please go listen to one of her songs if you haven't already, because they're that good. Major love for her songs! :)

5. One Direction's new album "Four" is amazayn! I'm quite a fan of them and I've been really enjoying their new sound on this album: I would decribe it as more chill and less pop than their previous songs. It's SO hard to pick a few favorite songs...but I'm going to say definitely "Steal My Girl", "Fireproof", and "Night Changes".

6. "The Heart Wants What It Wants" by Selena Gomez.

7. I have to include Katy Perry's "Birthday" and "This Is How We Do". They're fun pop songs that make you want to get up and dance!

8. Lately, I've been listening non-stop to "Superheroes", by The Script. This is one of those songs that make you want to sing along...well at least for me! Really like it!

9. I'm loving Emblem 3 at the moment. My favorite song of theirs is "3000 miles".

10. "Shower", by Becky G

11. "Boom Clap", by Charlie XCX

12. The famous Youtube singer Megan Nicole came out with her EP "Escape". I love "Electrified" and "Fun", which I listened to non stop!

Stroll on the Beach

Can you believe these were taken in October? I took them two weeks ago while at my grandparent's house in Brittany (France). It was towards the end of the month of October and the weather was so unexpectedly nice for fall. It was still windy and chilly but, as you can tell, the landscape was sunny and nice enough for me to take quite a few pictures. Anyways, perfect to take in some fresh air at the beach and eat a "torsade" with a lemonade afterwards. Yum :)

Happy Halloween

Today is the 31st of October which only means one thing: it's Halloween! This is definitely one of my favorite holidays ever (Christmas being the first one of course). This is the time where you can dress up into something you're not: spooky, funny, or even cute characters. Kids go trick-or-treating in the dark streets to fill up their bags with candy, as well as teenagers. Because let's be honest, there is no age limit to going trick-or-treating! Especially if it's for candy! I recommend going with your friends. This is what I did last year and it was a lot of fun. If you're too lazy to go trick-or-treating or want to do something else still staying in the holiday spirit, just watch scary movies that'll haunt you all night and invite friends over to not be creeped out all alone. This is what I'm planning on doing. I'm probably going to watch "Carrie" or "Ouija" and if I'm too spooked out "The Addams Family" for a less scary, classic movie. Another idea is to throw a Halloween Party with a bunch of friends, that have to come dressed up. I had an early party this year at my friend's house and we had a really good time. Don't forget to take lots of pictures guys! I included a couple pictures and you can see my devil costume.
An absolute must-do for Halloween is pumpkin carving. I love seeing the carved-pumpkins lit in the dark. Check out the pumpkins my sisters and I carved this year. After seeing this idea on Pinterest recently, I decided to carve mine into Tinkerbell with all the fairy dust left behind her. It's adorable and it changes from anything I've done before (yes, I take this choice very seriously haha :)

So what are your plans to celebrate Halloween this year? What are you dressing up as? And how are you going to carve your pumpkin?

Also tell me in the comments what you think of the movies I mentioned, if you've seen them. Are they good? Scary?

Lush First Impressions

Today, I went out with my friends to the movies at La Défense to watch "The Maze-Runner" starring Dylan O'Brien, which was a good action movie for all you science-fiction/ Hunger Games movie fans out there. Anyways, this isn't the subject of this blogpost. So considering I live in France, there aren't many Lush shops here. But each time I went to La Défense and passed by this Lush store, I just wanted to go in and smell everything. This is what I finally did today.

I immediately gravitated towards the bath bombs, knowing how much people find them amazing and the whole hype around them. And I approve: they do all look beautiful! I literally stood there, smelling all of their amazingness for about 10 minutes. (One of my friends even caught me with my nose a little glittery...oops :)
I finally got out with 2 bathbombs to try out: Cosmic Girl and Candy Mountain, which I will make a little review about in another blogpost. Stay tuned!

Fall OOTD in Paris

Finally I'm on vacation now for two weeks, since last Friday! Today I went up in the famous Tour Eiffel for the third time now (to the 2nd and 1st floor) and decided to share some pictures. I also wanted to take pictures of my outfit, as I found it very autumnal and I quite like it. I'm starting to wear my sweaters and warmer clothes now, as it's been getting pretty cold here in Paris recently. Fall also makes me pumped for winter which is my favorite season :) So excited! Anyways, I found this outfit very simple and casual, yet girly. It incorporates very autumnal colors: black, burgundy, gray, and khaki. I think I'll be wearing this a lot, and you can also be easily inspired by it too, as it's pretty simple to put together.

Parka: local boutique
Infinity scarf: Pimkie
Sweater: Hollister
Shorts: Cache Cache
Booties: Andre
Shoulder bag: Mango
